History
The Listener's Journey was inspired by the Carmelite Order's way of life and was developed to help individuals tune their spiritual ears to God, to seek Him and to know what He is speaking in their lives.  This journey leads to intimacy with God.

The Carmelites’ were founded over 800 years ago on the mountaintop of Carmel in Palestine. Their main focus is to be aware of the Presence of God in the most ordinary, every day things. The Carmelites adapt their disciplines and prayer around their life’s tasks. They are contemplative, but they live out their service in the world, not in seclusion. They are prayerful, but in a practical way...

A well known Carmelite, Brother Lawrence in his book, The Practice of the Presence of God, said “I came (to Carmel) to give myself completely to God in a life of prayer. Which is why the Carmelite Order exists. So it was up to me to find a way to live continually in a state of prayer while accomplishing my duties.”

The Listener's Journey was also developed out of need to keep all the things God was doing and speaking in one centralized location.  As someone who struggles with ADD, this guide allowed me to be able to keep bible study notes, journaling, prayer requests all in one place. Before the Listener's Journey, I had several journals going at one time, bible study notes strung out and would promise people that I would pray for them and then not remember who I told.  This was all rectified once I began using The Listener's Journey.
